Registering Your Business to Maintain Texting Compliance
Posh utilizes a 10 digit long code (10DLC) phone number and the messages you send are considered Application-to-Person (A2P) messaging by our contracted telephony provider; Twilio.
In an effort to reduce spam and/or unwanted messaging U.S. carriers, as dictated by the Federal Communications Commission pursuant to the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (“TCPA”) and the CAN-SPAM Act of 2003, are rolling out new requirements that will ultimately result in a full blocking of all unregistered message traffic by all U.S. carriers (including Twilio) beginning on August 31, 2023.
As a result, to ensure you will be able to continue using our SMS texting feature we must register your business information with Twilio ASAP.
These new regulations only apply to “texting” and do not affect voice or any other service we provide. Below is a link to complete this registration process. Please provide the requested information no later than July 31, 2023 to ensure continued utilization of our SMS texting feature. Failure to provide us the requested information by July 31, 2023 will result in our inability to register you with Twilio and in the SMS texting feature being disabled on August 31, 2023.
We take the security of your private business information very seriously and our sole purpose in obtaining the information you will provide via the link below is to complete Twilio’s (10DLC) registration on your behalf. In addition, we will pay all costs associated with this registration process as well as all setup fees for all customers using our SMS texting feature.
Please note that U.S. messaging carriers can and do apply their own interpretation of the standards set by the TCPA and CAN-SPAM to messaging traffic so requirements can vary from telephony provider to telephony provider and these requirements and restrictions continue to evolve. We are working diligently to preserve the functionality you have come to expect of our SMS texting feature, but we cannot rule out future changes in this ever-changing regulatory environment.
